Stringing Cats Along, New Kitty Treat Teams Up For Adoption Event

The treat aisle at any supermarket or pet supply store is crammed with goodies, and if our cats accompanied us on shopping trips, our carts would overflow with colorful packages promising flavorful joy. The newest one is practically pouncing off the shelves.

We just learned of Friskies’ latest innovation, called Pull ‘n Play, a cute treat dispenser shaped like a smiling kitty, filled with tempting ‘edible string’ (like the string cheese we so enjoy) in cat-fave flavors. Any cat who sees it instinctively knows how it works, grabbing that tasty string and nibbling away, or yanking it to a private spot to enjoy without sharing!

The deliciousness of Pull ‘n Play is part of a special happening on Friday June 26, when the “Friskies Playhouse” will host a cat adoption in New York City, 11am-3pm. Bringing some star power to the event will be NY Giants punter Steve Weatherford and Waffles, the sweet celeb cat whose Internet fame could make him the next Grumpy Cat. Waffles will pose for photos (Cat Selfies!) and snuggle up to his fans. Guests can also play with the adoptable kitties on hand and challenge Steve Weatherford in a variety of games and skill tests.

It’s for a great cause: every time someone wins a game at the interactive “Friskies Playhouse,” Friskies will donate a package of Party Mix to shelter cats. Friskies will make an additional donation of a Pull ‘n Play package (up to 2,500) every time the hashtag #MostPlayfulCat is used on Twitter or Instagram from June 25-July 2. Once that goal is met, Friskies will then make another donation of 2,500 Pull ‘n Play pouches and 5,000 packages of Party Mix. ( And from June 15-August 10, visit www.Friskies.com/PullNPlay where your cat can take part in the Most Playful Cat in America sweepstakes – a chance to win a cash prize of $1,500, a Wobbert toy plus a year’s supply of Friskies Pull ‘n Play.)

If you’ll be in New York, stop by Gansevoort Plaza (9th Ave. and Gansevoort St.)

or if you have a Big Apple friend who’s thinking of adopting, remind him or her about this purrfect time to check out patient kittens and cats seeking a forever home. Oh, and your own cat would give a big paws up for a pack of Pull ‘n Play so she or he can get in on the #MostPlayfulCat action with an Instagram or Twitter photo.
